Here's what our guests are saying about us

2024

We just got back from diving for a week in Dominica with Nature Island Divers. We had a great diving experience with them. Nature Island Divers  took the time to learn about our diving experience and air management and grouped us with similar divers so that we did not have to come up early with a lot of wasted air. This helped us maximize our bottom time and see more of the beautiful underwater environment of the Scotts Head Marine Preserve.

Captain Naz and DM’s Joy and Amber were friendly and approachable and always willing to answer any questions that we had. They always gave thorough dive site briefings but remembered to make if fun. They took us to all the best dive sites from Scott’s Head Pinnacle and Drop Off to the awesome inshore Walls. Underwater Joy and Amber were attentive and pointed out all the great marine life both big and small so we could enjoy their beauty. The Dive Op is also full service. They clean your gear at the end of the day and it is dry and ready on the boat the next day for you review and prep for your next dives. Nature Island Divers does not have a lot of “fluff” but they are genuine, professional, friendly, and they care. Overall the entire shop provided excellent customer service. They are our group’s “Go To” Dive Op on Dominica. We will dive with them again soon.

Of Special Note: This dive shop really cares about the marine park and protecting the Coral from Stony Coral Tissue Loss Syndrome (SCTLS). They take the time to apply antibiotic to some of the coral that we see on the dives that need help. I appreciated them doing that as it demonstrated a commitment to the greater Dominica Reef environment and Marine Preserves.

Nature Island Dive has the best Caribbean diving that my husband and I have done. And we’ve done a lot of diving! The coral reefs are amazingly healthy thanks in large part to Simon and Wendy and their crew at Nature Island Dive’s incredible conservation efforts. Everyone is so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Dez is an awesome dive guide who’s competence really makes you feel taken care of while maintaining a friendly, laid back vibe… and she makes the coolest jewelry out of lionfish!

The level of service at this place is unsurpassed in my experience. They truly take care of everything, including washing out your dive gear for you at the end of the day and Sanitizing your suit and your BCD before you head home. This is a true Gem.  If you are thinking about diving the Caribbean this is the spot.  Do it! You won’t regret it.

Best diving in the Caribbean.  Very well run operation.  Simon the owner is very personable and passionate about reef preservation.   His staff including Nazarene, Kimmy and Desiree were wonderful.  One of our best dive experiences.  Lots of marine life including eels, trunkfish, scorpionfish, spotted eagle ray, sea horses, bearded fire worms, shrimp, lobster.  The lionfish sandwiches are amazing.  We’ll definitely be back.

Loved this dive shop! The dives were great and surface intervals were done back at the shop which was really nice. The dive shop has a nice little cafe so you can refuel between dives. The dive masters were all very knowledgeable and attentive and the captain was great! Wonderful time diving with Nature Island. I look forward to coming back to dive with them again !

What a wonderful dive shop in Dominica. Amazing views and vibes but most importantly great people. The staff is so fun and friendly and they put safety first. My partner and I completed our Advanced Diver course here with our instructor Desiree. We had both been away from scuba for awhile and she was great about making sure we were comfortable, getting weights right, and taking time to really explain everything and make sure we truly understood concepts. From the dive staff to the captains everyone was very professional and looking out for our safety and we just had a really great and enjoyable time. The Bottom Time Cafe is nice as a post/pre dive snack or coffee, very convenient and great sandwiches! Also the shop is located in a beautiful location with incredible dive sites, if you love giant sponges, fish, and more this is the place for you! We would absolutely come back here as soon as possible and recommend Nature Island Dive.

NatureIslandDive is not only a first rate SCUBA operation, but it is a community center: the people there are so welcoming, they have fantastic coffee and food in their canteen. But back to the diving instruction and equipment: the dive instructors are excellent and the equipment is well maintained and excellent as well. Simon is a visionary for having started

Simon and his wife Wendy were the best! Nature Island Dive is by far the best dive shop on the island. They are extremely knowledgeable, care immensely about creating a safe and adventurous diving environment no matter your dive experience and also they care about ocean life and coral health.

My husband and I are honeymooners on this island, and we were able to dive at 2 different shops. Because of the “safe in nature” quarantine, our initial dive was completed at another dive shop on the island. We left our first dive day disappointed by the quality of the dives, and decided to seek out another shop for our second dive day. We found Nature Island Dive and they really blew the other shop out of the waters.

They were easy to communicate with, and transparent about what to expect given the weather conditions. Additionally, the staff was friendly and hospitable, extremely passionate about diving, and most of them have been diving since the 90s (so very experienced!). The equipment was in good condition and they sized us properly in our wet suits.

Also!!! They have a little coffee/food cafe in the shop and my husband and I both had a lion fish sandwich that they make in house. IT WAS AMAZING! I felt a little seasick following the dive and the staff immediate made me some ginger tea and I felt back to normal in no time! Post dive, my husband and I hung around the shop for another hour just chatting with the staff and they were in no rush, and took time to get to know us. We enjoyed our interaction with them very much.

If you’re looking for a dive shop that is professional, safe, knowledgeable, cares about the oceans and friendly. This is your place! If we ever find ourselves back in Dominica this is the shop we will dive with again! And we would recommend them to anyone!

I cannot say enough about how amazing our trip was. We were a group of 12 with 9 experienced divers and 3 non-divers. We stayed for 10 days at Jungle Bay Resort and did 16 dives with Nature Island Dive. Amazing staff! Simon, Wendy, Vaughn, Naz, and Joy were all great to work with. Reef is incredibly healthy and beautiful. Lots of life and diversity. I saw at least 10 things I’ve never seen before. DM’s were great at spotting macro. Boats are spacious and functional. Shop area is nice for surface interval.

I would rate this as my new favorite location. I’ve been to 28 countries and this trip was the best organized and offered the most for divers and non-divers.

So much to say about this dive operator!
Firstly I want to point out being a dive instructor myself I find it difficult to dive for my own pleasure! Oftentimes the instructors struggle with how to behave around another professional but not here! Friendly respect is all! Simon runs an awesome place with a team which is not only professional but incredibly welcoming… not just a team a family; a close knit family! Désirée is a super instructor and guide; and boy does her passion for what she does shine through! Her pre-dive briefs are not only thorough, informative and security oriented but fun. And underwater she doesn’t disappoint either … if there’s something great to be found she finds it! Not to forget to mention the rest of the team… awesome!
A really positive image of females in the dive industry is to be seen throughout this structure! I want to go as far as to say that Nature Island Dive is the best structure I’ve ever dived at! A million thanks to Simon and the crew for their attention to detail and for everything they do to protect our precious underwater environment. See you all again very soon!

Fantastic dive team, amazing dives, gorgeous location…if you’re looking for THE great place/people for diving on Dominica, this is it.

Knowledgeable staff, certified instructors, diligent with equipment/ safety/ certification. Definitely five stars. Plus, the crew is caring for their reefs, doing their damnedest to control the lion fish, and is clearly an energetic, caring pillar in their ocean and island communities.

Our group was two “it’s been a long time” divers, one newly certified first ocean diver, and one injured diver who was snorkeling this trip. Everyone was super gracious, helping our first timer with ear adjustment challenges on two dives, accommodating of our snorkeler on the boat with us, and helping us across the board with equipment and troubleshooting.

We saw a ton of amazing fish & coral, an Atlantic sting ray, a few eels, and were treated to a multitude of different kinds of marine reefs, walls & pinnacles over our four dives. If you’re planning to dive all week (they have 20+ different dive locations), I would recommend staying closer to them rather than driving through rush hour in the morning everyday. And lion fish sandwiches for lunch at their cafe means you’re doing your part to protect the reef, too!

Best diving on the island and a really professional and ethical dive shop. It’s clear they care deeply about the local ecosystem. We did 2 days of diving and really loved it! The little shop makes great sandwiches and smoothies and the vibe is always friendly and chill.

We did our dive certification here and it was awesome! Our dive master Des was a great teacher and a lot of fun. The dive sites are incredible. Lots of beautiful fish, sponges, coral. We also saw eels, crabs, lion fish, sea cucumbers and more. Our favorite spot was the soufriere pinnacles. The coffee and lionfish sandwiches are delicious! I recommend the cappuccino. The owner and crew were all very nice and fun. This is a great place if you’re looking to go diving in Dominica! Highly recommend

We just spent a lovely day diving @ Village (not always accessible) and l’abym. We brought our own gear, but that was not necessary, gear seemed just fine. Dives were fun & relax, afterwards nice lionfish sandwich and coffee to make the experience complete!
